GulfRun gathering and dinner

We got invited to the GulfRun Drivers' gathering in one of the warehouses in shuwaikh. I didn't realize that the event is going to be this HUGE. I thought that it is only a small gathering.





This is the GulfRun 6.. it has been 6 years so far and GulfRun is doing something unique..

There was 3 walls full of pictures of GulfRun drivers from 1st year to last year. which is 5 years back.. total sucess I say.
There were 3 hotties on display. A Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano in pearl white, A Mercdes-Benz SLS AMG and The Ford GT.

It was annouced that the SLS will be in BIC and everyone will get a ride in it! cool isn't it ?

I sat in the car for few shots, and on the way out, I smashed my head to the door! no cool isn't it ?

For a car lover, I was so happy to see companies sposor such events in Kuwait. One day enshalla we should have our own track ane see people from the gulf do the same event and come to kuwait.

Sheesha was available, Fajitas , Shawarma and sweets were the highlight of the event for those who came in to eat :P

The music they played was nice not loud as a lounge, but something in the background.

I couldn't resist to take pictures from inside the Ford GT.. Such an amazing car from the inside.. I didn't rielize that the quality of an American car interior can be so decent before this car.

BMW M Meets X - My experience -

M Meet X

The event held by BMW in Mishref duringthe Kuwait Car Show last weekend.

I was Invited through a friend to attend some testing of few cars.

At the beginning I was hesitant to go because I was invited to another 4X4 off-road event in northern area in Kuwait. With almost 40 off-road cars.

Until I got a call from BMW to inform me of their event. My first question was!

What cars are going to test!

The List was :

• BMW X5M
• BMW X6M
• BMW M3

So I said YES YES I AM coming..

And there I go..

We started by registering our names and we got a tag.. dangler.. One of those plastic fancy ones.. I Still have it but it shows my name, which is going to ruin the whole concept of The Stig anonymousness theory.

After the badges, they started with a video about the history of BMW M Division. So COOOL

Then a small briefing for those first-timers.

They got two test drivers from Germany to help us getting to know the cars better and explore the potential.

The Name M Meets X was designed to promote BMW's new X5M & X6M.

In the past BMW M division was only making the M5 and M3, then came along the Z8 in 2001 and seized production with 5000 cars only.

They refused to use the M Badge on a car that is not sporty enough like the & series.

But this time they wanna prove me wrong and make a fast SUV! we'll see

And here we go! Starting the new M3 V8.. it rumbles like a soaring throat.. a cool one though.

Unfortunately I was not able to take pictures and driving in 1st gear doing 40 km/h zigzagging!

So no pictures this time :P

After our careless driving in the beemers.. Ralph the test driver offered us a drive in the X6M to show us how driving can be.

And the picture above can explain what we've been through.

Thank god I came on an empty stomach.. otherwise..! you know the rest.

It Is A "Great Steak" & Free invitation :P

We have been invited to visit the new chain of the Great Steak restaurants in Kuwait. The Owner wanted us to try the restaurant and give him an honest feedback.

When I was told that we are invited to a new restaurant, I was happy to go. but when they told me it is Great Steak.. I was like "WAHT" this is a fast food restaurant. then the told it is not the same Great Steak u know.. Same Name.. Same Owner.. But completely new line.

And It is different.

Rose Ball Potato.. very nice.. hot, but try to ask for Jalapeño on the side to spice it up.

Bomb Crab.. tasty, but the portion is not enough :P

That's only me cuz I love seafood, but for others it was fine compared to the price.

House Salad.. fresh and tasty. tastes just like the one mom makes

Thai Salad.. Unless you are used to the Thai food, don't try it or ask for Vinegar and black pepper.

Don't miss the pizza. so thin. so light and tasty combination. feels Italian in a casual dining restaurant.

Onion Rings.. honestly didn't got the chance to try it.. the guys ate it all before I could reach one :P

Fish Tampora.. or whatever it is called.. the sauce that comes with it is niiiiiiiiiice.

Chicken Caesar Salad. good, but the chicken was hot and the lettace was cold.. I got confused when I eat to different things in one bowl.

Crunchy spicy burger.. over all 95%

Lemon pepper chicken 100%

Bambini Minis.. really tasty and the mushroom sauce is fantastic.

My Sandwich..Pepper Steak Sandwich. I was suppose to share it with the guys to come up with a verdict. but after my first bite, I was so greedy that we had to fight over it.

I don't know the name of this one :P

but overall, the location is nice.

atmosphere is cool.

they have a backyard if you want to enjoy the weather.

A projector playing some cooking shows.

the staff are friendly.

the bread is fresh and hot and soft and bunny and... just loved it :P

they have some kind of juice that I forgot to get the name of it..

tastes like Snapple Kiwi & Strawberry. It comes in a Jar.. just ask for the jar :P dolka :P

McLaren MP4-12C Launch VIP Invitation

I got an invitation through one of my friends t the Launch of the new McLaren MP4-12C in Alraya Ballroom.

It was very exclusive, about 40 people or less were invited. I as lucky enough to be amongst those 40.

That's My invitation dangler.

I will not bore with the technical information as long as am not going to add something new. everything is available online.

The took our names at the gate to make sure of the invitations, then everything seemed to be white and orange!

I was carrying my camera and feeling shy not to be mixed with the press since i was one of few people wearing casual stuff along with the press.. everyone else seemed to know what they are doing! Deshdasha was the big hit!

On display and before we reached the car, we got an access to a computer where you can custom your car from zero to everything you want. and these are the colors available for the exterior.

This is how the car would look naked! the chassis, engine and everything.

The steering is obviously small and semi-oval bottom helps easy access to the car. It has a paddle shift gearbox and the paddles are mounted behind the wheels. one of my friends thinks that the steering wheel is relatively similar to Mercedes somehow, I couldn't argue cuz he owns a couple of mercs and he knows what he's saying.

The Brake system is claimed to be very effective even for those steel brakes. the actual car tested from the factory and covered over a 100,000 miles came with the standard steel brakes. they said that unless you go to the track every weekend, you won't need them.

The 3.8 Liter engine that was designed solely for this car. not as the Old McLaren F1 which was a 6.1 Liter developed by BMW M Division. or the 5.5 Liter that stuffed the SLR.

One of the turbos. as the engine is a twin turbine engine. which means high torque even on low speed.

after a boring speech, and the car is still covered. I was about to sleep. but thank god there was an engineer from the ones that used and still works on the old McLaren F1 car. Looking at him was a bit comforting :P

Moment of truth! naaaaaaah

I have already seen the car in many vids and pics. but to be honest, I was hoping to see in real life .

Everything in this car functional over formal. every vent is there for a reason.

The doors open almost like the SLR.

I was lucky enough to be the first to sit in the car, for someone of my figure, it is perfect. I wonder how someone that is 190cm tall or more would find the headroom of the car. you sit too low :/

Aerodynamics, Transmission, Traction control, Launch control and suspension all comes in a very accessible place for the driver. while the Aircon and other stuff comes within the switches in the door.
